Let’s talk about plant based skincare. There was a long period in my life when I didn’t do skincare… then there was a period where I did the whole overcomplicated skincare routine… and then I found The Daily Essential Co and their plant based skincare. That is when everything changed. As a busy mom of four boys ages 8, 6, 4, and 2, I needed something clean and competitive. I wanted to GLOW and I wanted to glow in less than a few minutes if you know what I mean. So I figured why not switch things up and see how it goes?

How I Found The Daily Essential Co

I won’t lie… I had heard of the brand forever but never wanted to invest. Because what if it was just another product that didn’t live up to the hype. And my current routine was fine. It was long but it was fine. Then I was at an event and was given a bottle of SkinBae. You guys… my skin ATE IT UP.

About The Daily Essential Co

So naturally I had to go and see what else they had going on. The Daily Essential Co has a ton of products, but it started as just SkinBae. The founder created it as a solution to her own skin problems. She was about my age and has been struggling with perioral dermatitis. And from their they have expanded to an entire line of products. Their mission is “simplify skincare through powerful, plant-based formulas that transform daily routines into rituals of self-worth.”

What “plant-powered” means (and doesn’t)

For The Daily Essential Co., “plant-powered” means formulating oil-based and gentle skincare products using natural, plant-derived extracts and oils that work with your skin’s biology rather than relying on harsh synthetics. Formulas utilize plant extracts and botanical oils (such as rosehip seed oil, jojoba oil, frankincense, copaiba, yarrow, pomegranate, and elderberry) that closely mimic the skin’s natural oils for smooth absorption.

It doesn’t mean “100% chemical-free” or anti-science: The brand combines purposeful plant-derived extracts with well-researched, skin-safe functional components rather than avoiding all effective science-backed chemistry.

After a year of Plant Based Skincare

Straight away I could see the difference SkinBae made. It gave me instant hydration and glow, which I needed because my skin is dry dry dry. And the best part for my experience was no adjustment period. So I have gone on to add more products from their line over time. Because if I could see improvement right away, I wanted more. After a year of using and adjusting the products I use I can see more glowy skin at all times, my skin is hydrated, I have little to no irritation when adding in new products, and my skintone is bright and even.

Product snapshots

I have products I use in the daytime and products I use in the evening based on my skin needs and my routines. In the morning I use SkinBae (or even sometimes trade out for JojoBae depending on the season) and Dew Over before I apply my makeup. In the evening I use Cleanse, Refine a few times a week, C:Luronic, Bae, and Hydrate. I recently added in Sleepover as needed throughout the week too.

The honest part

While I use mostly TDE products for my skincare, there are a few other products I still add in. For all my makeup and cosmetics I use SeneGence. For my lip care I use some things that I feel hydrate a little deeper and better for my needs. And for my eyes I use a SeneGence eye cream. I do have the eye patches that I love from TDE, but I feel my aging eyes need a touch heavier of a cream at night.

I do feel like I have decent skin to start with, so TDE has been great to enhance that. However, I will note that their products might be for everyone and as I start to age more I might need to supplement in other products. But for an overall simple skincare routine to make sure your skin is hydrated and cleansed with clean products, this is a great option. I especially like it for kids/teens starting their skincare because it is safe and easy to use.
